Look for an Oil Tank Removal Company with Oil Tank Detection Services

Here at West Coast Tank Recovery, we want to make the removal of an oil tank as easy as possible for the customer. We know how inconvenient you fear it can be dealing with an oil tank on your premises and want to show you that it is not as bad as it seems.

Most people living in Vancouver, who are from BC, know about unused oil tanks being buried underground. This is because the type of fuel that we currently use in the province is natural gas, but it used to be oil and when the switch was made, the oil tanks became obsolete. Oil tanks that have not been used for at least two years must be removed under BC law.

However, it can be difficult to know if you have an oil tank on your property because they are buried underground. At West Coast Tank Recovery, we offer oil tank detection services, as well as oil tank removal services.

The benefit of going with a company that offers both of these services is that the whole process is streamlined. You can of course go for separate companies, one that facilitates the oil tank detection and another that will remove the oil tank if one is found to be there. However, this means dealing with multiple companies and you cannot be 100% sure that the correct information regarding oil tanks on your property will be communicated between both companies. The company that does the oil tank detection part will have to let the oil tank removal company know exactly where it is. While this is entirely possible, it is easier for everybody involved if you use the same firm for oil tank removal and oil tank detection.

For our oil tank detection services at West Coast Tank Recovery we use metal detection and advanced ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology. This means no digging is necessary to find out if you have an oil tank. The digging only begins once one has been detected and you authorize us to remove it. This process is smooth and mess free, as we know exactly where the oil tank is located and can keep the digging confined to that area. If we don’t find one, that will be the end of it and you will be satisfied in the knowledge that you are not breaking the law by keeping an obsolete oil tank on your premises.  We will also provide you with documentation to prove that your property is oil tank-free, so when it is time to sell, there will be no question.
